Blessings from Ladies' Tea Event
The heartbeat of this event centers all around the mentorship between women, and passing on wisdom and inspiring faith across generational divides. What better way to orchestrate such a gathering than over a brunch of tea and finger foods?
My very dear friend and mentor Jessy, who helped co-host the event, reached out to me and my sister with the invitation to host a table. Not only were we given the exciting hospitality opportunity to decorate our own table together, but I was also allowed the chance to incorporate, fittingly, the promotion of both my book “The Little Teacup” along with some tea from shop!
I was buzzing the whole morning from the time we arrived to set up both of our tables; our seating table and my very own sales table to display my books. We themed our seating table in a more eastern tea aesthetic, using my Chinese porcelain and my gong fu tea set as a centerpiece. My book table was sort of a pastel compliment, and I loved decorating with a few personal touches like my art supplies and stuffed teacup friends. But by far the most beautiful feature that brought everything together, were the two gorgeous flower arrangements that our incredible friend Bristol so lovingly made for each one.

It was actually Bristol who encouraged me to bring a batch of my own tea to serve. I brought a two gallon batch of my Gentle Jasmine oolong tea, and was very relieved that there was an extra serving dispenser just the right size to include it amongst the rest. To my surprise there was very little left by the end!
As you’ll see in a second I was also surprised by a very unexpected yet heartwarming shoutout. As she opened the event in introduction, Jessy went so far as to share with the audience the story behind my book and the message within it. But before you watch the clip, I would also like to shoutout the women in my corner who were there for me and created an experience I will treasure forever. My shining star sister was by my side the whole time helping as my second pair of hands, taking the lead on setting our tea table, and stepping up to the plate to handle transactions as we learned on the spot while selling books. Bristol, who not only crafted some of the most beautiful flower arrangements I’ve ever seen, also served as my rock of support and encouragement to just say ‘yes’ and make the most of the opportunity for my business. My mom, who made sure I had a plate of what food was left after I was busy managing my book table, and who helped clean up long after the event was over. And of course, Kenzie and Jessy, for not only putting the whole event together, but for also nurturing and stewarding a community of faithful women who support one another, like they did for me.
